So the sororities at A&M fall into groups & “top” houses are basically dependent upon where you are from & really matter of opinion. There ARE houses who already know their bid lists & will probably get them, so there’s that. I’ll call them group 1…that’s Kappa & Tri Delt. If you don’t know anyone in these houses get ready for hard cuts in the first round.
Group 2-that would be houses like DG, ZTA, Pi Phi, AXO & DZ & all of them pull from the same group & depending on who you know in the house you may be cut early…DZ, Pi Phi or AXO may keep you around a little longer (like thru sisterhood) until the others have to make bigger cuts, but all are competitive houses.
Group 3- Chi O & Theta. People call them the “Christian” girls. Make no mistake, these are competitive houses & Chi O is notorious for dirty rushing. Obviously they pull form similar groups & if you don’t fit you will be cut.
Group 4- KD and GPhi- these two pull from similar groups also. I hate to say they get the leftovers, but they often pick up girls cut from groups 2 & 3. They get good pledge classes because so many great girls go thru recruitment & sometimes cuts are made for very superficial reasons or because a house just doesn’t know enough about a girl. Definitely some randoms slip in to these chapters though.
Last - group 4 - ADPi & AOPi. Hate to use the term “bottom” because there really isn’t one, but lots of girls drop recruitment rather than pledge one of these. The girls that remain & pledge either of these houses are the types that don’t care about superficial rankings & are good to make the most of their sisterhood.

I agree that they are not that great. They don’t dominate rush either. They just pre-rush and make their lists and cheat to get who they want, but I don’t think their girls are all that. They are just kinda dry, meh looking and from private schools. I personally like a lot of the girls I’m the other groups more, except Chi O. Not a huge fan of them for the same reason I’m not a fan of Kappa and TriDelt. I wish more girls would stick with ADPi and AOPi because there is so much potential there. DG was a newer chapter in the late 90’s and look how they have grown. I feel like ADPi is really stepping it up. AOPi has so much potential and women are missing an opportunity perhaps due to crap posted here and their own pride. Being a member of an A&M sorority is awesome no matter where you end up.

they are top, hence why all the other houses are constantly bitter. plus they get the best return rates in rush every year soooooo

Chi O does this too. If you aren’t preselected you are cut.

I think group 4 should just be referred to as the perfect place for the non-sorority pnm. They can still be cool and cute too. It consists of KD/ADPI/GPHI/AOPI (in no particular order). In reality they fight over the same girls. There is nothing wrong with those girls, they just often aren't as "prepared" for recruitment. Maybe their recs aren't strong, maybe they aren't legacies, maybe they applied last minute. They maybe just don't know anyone, just wanted to try it out, aren't that serious but also are serious if that makes sense. I'm tired of them being called low tier. I'm in a "top house" and we literally do not care. It's ok not to be DG/AXO/ZTA typical sorority girl image. It's ok to not be THETA/CHIO Christian camp girls. It's especially ok to not be a krappa.

I think that’s kind of what the post says. Girls who don’t care about ranks & labels go to those houses. Nothing wrong with that.

I think you are right. Many girls in your "group 4" held very strong houses through Sisterhood round. When they were not invited back to those "top" houses, these are the girls that decided being Greek was a priority over exactly which house they got. When other PNMs removed themselves from the process, these girls stayed in, made the best of it and found a place that they could make great friendships, find leadership opportunities and enjoy the social events.
Bottom line - all houses have philanthropy events, sisterhood events and mixers/date parties/formals. Find where you fit or fit where you find yourself.

I personally think this is somewhat accurate idk if Pi phi can be considered with DG, ZTA, Axo or Dz. I personally think their vibe is more like Chi o, but the rest is pretty spot on. All of them are solid chapters tho.
People always get salty about Kappa & Tri Delt but they go for a certain type & for the most part they get who they want. Nobody cuts Tri Delt or Kappa, let’s be honest.

But, if all those pretty, cool girls stayed in the process those houses would look different and those PNMs would get a great Greek life experience.
