how do they know if you’re wealthy?

you can't literally see the zip, but we are told hometowns and because most students are from Texas, you kind of just know.

But it also goes something like this "Hi, I'm XYZ, where are you from?"...... "I'm from Houston"...."oh yeah, me too! What school did you go to?" Thus us knowing what area. Don't lie about your school either bc often we do know the high school. If you have to lie or work to impress a sorority based on something you don't have control over, it isn't worth your time.

The sororities that care about this will also most likely be the ones with higher dues. They'll cut based on whether they think you can pay and keep up with them. They'll look for designer clothes. These traits definitely don't make it a good or popular sorority either. If you were cut, someone was on your side.

When I went through (from one of those zip codes), at one house I was still asked “did you bring a car to school” (oh yes, what kind?), what my dad does for a living, and some nosy questions about summer vacation (oh, i’ve been there...which hotel did you stay at?)”


That kind of crap.
