Not sure if you mean sororities or fraternities but no it’s not looked down on - plenty of people rush as sophomores, it’s common for fraternities and sororities here

I rushed as a sophomore. Sometimes they’ll ask you question as if you were a freshman. Make sure to redirect them and talk about things you did freshman year because things you did in high school aren’t as relevant.

I’m rushing a fraternity as a sophomore and I don’t mean to hincak the post but what would be a good answer if someone were to ask why you waited as a sophomore?

This is coming from me rushing a sorority as a sophomore. Just be honest to your experience.

Did you transfer? Joined a mens org and wanted more? didn't realize Greek life was as big of a deal as it was? Maybe you met some great guys and wanted to get a "brotherhood"? Wanted more from the college experience and then some after college? wanted a good group of guys?

You don't have to have an elaborate story of why you rushed. It can be as simple as "I saw it and wanted it" or "I felt like I was missing out" or "I wanted some good stories"

^ and another good/common answer is that you wanted to "get your grades up first" and "wait to adjust to college"
