beginning year rankings
by: sororityhouse
Frats:
Top tier: KA/Fiji (?)
-With Sig Ep now kicked off for hazing these are really the only two top tier frats left. BUT Fiji has nowhere near the social presence it once did and KA still hasn't recovered from all its financial/conduct issues. While still top tier by name, our top tier frats are really what would have counted as mid tier frats 3-5 years ago. If the new PC doesn't change their direction, they'll drop tiers soon
Upper mid: SAE/Delt
-As much as everyone would hate to say it, SAE is our most promising frat right now. Not because they've improved but because everyone better than them has either declined or been kicked off. They're still super sketchy and douchy but they're the closest thing resembling a shot at replacing the top tier if their PC turns out well. Delt is the same as it's always been. They'll always be relevant but they'll never be top. Can't see them moving up or down regardless of PC.
Mid tier: Pike/Sigma Chi
-Both have improved a lot. They might not have the respect of other frats but they're both very solid groups of guys. Getting a big head is becoming a problem because both think they're much higher up than they are. Could see them moving up to compete with higher level frats with a couple more good PCs, as long as they recognize that they're still mid tier and need to work to keep improving
Lower mid: Beta/Kappa Sig
-Both have way too big of egos for how low down the ladder they are. Definitely improving but have a long way to go. A good PC this year could establish them as relevant chapters but won't put them into mid tier territory.
Sororities:
Top tier: Zeta (?)
-If Sig Ep got kicked off for "allegations" of hazing last semester, Tri Delt probably will too. Especially given that there's video evidence. So Zeta is really our only top tier chapter left.
Upper mid: Kappa, DG, XO
-Kappa has fallen from top tier. It's possible that a good PC could lead to a recovery but most of Greek life just doesn't see them as anything more than upper mid anymore. DG and XO are both very strong and have the potential to move up to top tier with a good PC but will more than likely remain in their current state given that they never really change from year to year.
Mid Tier: Pi Phi, AXO
-Both solid. AXO is more likely to move up with a good PC but both need concentrated improvent to really contend with top/upper tiers.
All in all we've gutted our top tier and Greek life has bottomed out a bit. It's nowhere near where it once was. We've lost one keystone chapter and are likely to lose another. BUT our mid and upper mid chapters are showing strong potential and a good PC this year might make for a big shakeup in rankings

I agree that greek life here has definitely tanked over the past couple years, but I'm not sure I agree with the rankings. Tbh they're irrelevant at this point. Pretty much every well known fraternity and sorority here is now just an average mid tier treading water, they're all pretty much equal.
Also I think all this stuff about the Tri Delt hazing incident is ridiculously stupid, but everyone who says they're not going to get grilled over it is clearly underestimating how badly pretty much every university in the nation wants to find a reason to kick off their greek chapters. Sororities/fraternities do not fit with the PC all inclusive safe space agenda of most schools these days
