rush week

I have heard a lot about sororities judging girls based on looks, weight, etc. I was really looking forward to rush week but I am not a skinny girl which has made me not look forward to rushing anymore. Will I get cut from a lot of houses because of my size. Also, are recommendation letters mandatory to get into a sorority?

Girl don't worry about that! While some houses are very looks-based, most just want girls who will add to their sisterhood! So no, your weight will not be a problem for finding your home. And yes, a lot (but not all) of the houses take letters quite seriously, so they do matter. Don't stress, and good luck!

It may be a cliche, but be yourself. Your size and looks don't matter as much as you having good conversations!!!

do not worry about that! I couldnt tell you what one girl I rushed last year wore or looked like for that matter unless they chose my sorority. We want to get to know YOU as a person, not superficially. Just be yourself completely. A&M is so chill with rush.
