transfer rush questions

I am rushing this fall and have a few questions. I have a 3.9 GPA, but do not know any actives. Is that a huge disadvantage? Also, do you have to have recommendation letters? I know that it says the you do not, but is it necessary. What are some tips?

GET RECS!!! Seriously, you have a few weeks left so make a hard push to get one rec for each house. Some chapters (scattered throughout the popularity "tiers") have national policies that pnms must have a rec on file to pledge. Not having recs just limits your chances....

You HAVE to get recs or you will be cut from certain chapters. There are so many great girls going through that they have to cut you for a girl they know fantastic things about because the risk isn't worth it. Just get your recs and you will be fine!

Im also a transfer that is rushing but I was told I didn't really need REC letters. Especially since I'm the first person in my family history ever to rush. I did not know it was highly recommended :( but ill take my chances I guess. Any advice?

Yes, my advice is to GET RECS!!! You still have a few weeks for alumnae to write them & submit. Start today by reaching out to every woman you know to ask if they were in a sorority. Some thought starters on who to ask:

-neighbors
-teachers
-your friends' mothers and older sisters / cousins
-women from church / volunteer activities
-women from your part time job / women whose kids you babysit
