There are several sororities that are nationally strong, not regionally strong - Kappa, Tri Delt, DG, Pi Phi, and Theta. Look at the top public and private universities in each region and these sororities are usually top tier. Strong chapters in the East, South, Midwest, West Coast (except Tri Delt is not strong in CA, AZ, CO).

Not true - DG is top tier in the MidWest, East Coast, and West Coast. I am not a DG but they have great chapters in California, Florida, all the Big 10 schools, Ivy League, Mississippi. Very strong nationally.

Newsweek released the TOP 25 NATIONALLY Ranked Sororities in 8/6/2012 as per the internet. Look it up. These are the sororities that are at A&M that were listed:
1. Zeta Tau Alpha
2. Delta Gamma
3. Kappa Kappa Gamma
4. Alpha Delta Pi
5. Chi Omega
6. Pi Beta Phi
7. Kappa Delta
8. Delta Delta Delta
11. Kappa Alpha Theta
12. Delta Zeta
13. Alpha Chi Omega
14. Gamma Phi Beta

To 168: Are you saying that "Newsweek" is lying? It is based on donations to each chapters philanthropy. Every sorority thinks they are the best. I gave you the truth from a reliable source. Show us your proof from a reliable source.

Go back and actually read the Newsweek article. If you actually look at how much each Sorority gives to each philanthropy and not the order they are listed in then you will see that they based the actual ranking on FB posts and Twitter. If you based it on philanthropy only this is the order.

DG, Kappa, Pi Phi, Theta are the top national sororities also. They have the chapters at the elite schools that every national sorority wants. Theta and Kappa are the only two sororities at both Harvard and Yale, and everyone wanted on those campuses when they opened up to panhellenic sororities.
Also, Gamma Phi has many top tier chapters in the Midwest, Arizona, West, and West Coast.

that's ridiculous. KKG and PiPhi used to have mostly strong chapters but have gotten weaker is the past 20 years mostly due to hazing. TriDelt, DG and Theta are strong groups but still just regionally strong like the rest. Tridelt is weak in the West. Theta is weak in the south. DG is weak in the South except for Mississippi. I'll give DG credit though--they've been getting stronger around the country lately.
