transfer rush

by: bmfs

Hey guys,

I’ll be transferring from out of state into OU as a sophomore. I wanted to know opinions on if I even have a chance of joining a sorority as a sophomore since most people that will be rushing are freshman. Also wanted to know some sororities that are good and then the ones to stay away from. I have perfect grades but also love to party and have fun regularly if anyone has any opinions on who I would fit with from that limited description haha. Also, what are the sororities that you must have recommendation letters for and which ones do you NOT HAVE to have them for and still have a chance? I have a lot of Greek life throughout my family so getting letters for most of the sororities should not be a problem but still want to feel comfortable within a house that I may not be able to get a recommendation letter for. Honest opinions please!! I am going in with an open mind no matter what because I want to find my perfect fit just wanted to get some info and opinions from people currently at OU. Thanks

You will need a better attitude if you want to get a bid. All the houses are good and they're all good friends. If anyone knows that you are out shopping for a top house on greek rank they're all going to drop you. If your aim is sisterhood and strong fraternal connections, all our houses will be good for you. So shape up.

I transferred to OU as a sophomore as well and throughout rush I had an open mind and tried to get a feel for the personality of the house for myself. You really just need an open mind about who to join! (And don’t listen to the person who said to shape up, that was rude)
