by: GreekHey PNMs! It's almost spring, which crazily enough means that it's almost time to start thinking about recruitment. I would love to answer any questions and give advice about how to best get ready and be prepared for rush! Leave comments below! :)

An impressive resume usually has lots of involvement, both high school and college. Serving on committees, holding leadership positions, being involved with clubs, etc is important. A very important component is philanthropy! Houses pay a lot of attention to this, particularly the ones that do very well with their own philanthropies. Community service, fundraising, charity weeks, Soonerthon/Relay help resumes to stand out! Internships and work experience help as well. As for GPA, a "good" GPA is usually considered above a 3.5, but it really varies from house to house. Instagram followers isn't really a deciding factor but seeing as though the members will check your social media, it definitely doesn't hurt to have a high following. And money really doesn't matter for most of the houses--but Kappa and Theta are the main "money" houses.

I don't think that houses have any problem with sophomores rushing. It all depends on your resume, grades, and connections! If you don't have a lot of friends in the "top" houses, it may be harder to get in one of those because generally they prefer freshmen who can stay all 4 years. But if you have good involvement and a lot of connections in the houses, it shouldn't be a problem at all! Even if you don't have connections in the top houses, there is still a good chance that you could get one, or a mid-tier house for sure.
