If you have people on the national board of a sorority write for you does it help?

Maybe but not always. Depends on so many factors.

I had a recommendation from a national-level woman of the sorority I am now in. Combined with other recs/letters of support, I definitely noticed a difference in my rush at this house. The actives really trusted her opinion of me and tbh it felt awesome. Also, if a woman with so much influence writes you a glowing rec and you don't get a bid from that sorority, you don't want to be there anyways. The actives should respect what she wants, and I personally feel that if they don't, it reflects bad values of the chapter (similar to cutting a legacy). I wasn't a legacy to any houses at Ole Miss, but that rec basically made me feel like one. You'll be fine.

It will definitely help if you personally know the national board member.
