dirty rushing
by: CuriousSo this girl I know who I'm also rushing with in the fall is in Oxford right now and she posted on Instagram w/ an active member of KD. Isn't this not allowed? Aren't pnms not supposed to even be talking with actives right now let alone hang out or go to parties with them?

Essentially we are still allowed to hang out with pnm's that we already personally know. We are no longer allowed to initiate contact with girls we do not already know personally.
The goal is to allow us to remain friends with girls we have known for years, but stop us from influencing girls we haven't met.
Your friend needs to be very very careful! KD is famous for making everybody feel like they will receive a bid. Every year girls are heartbroken when KD cuts them. By posting pictures of her with actives the other sororities are getting a loud and clear message that she want a bid from KD. We will remove her from our lists rather than have her take a spot from another pnm who doesn't have her heart set on any particular house yet. If KD drops her (very likely) she may find her options limited.
This happened to a pnm last year. We saw her hanging out with nobody but kd's. They cut her after second round. By then it was too late. She was too far down on our lists to receive a bid. She ended up dropping out.
Rush is a very political game! Pnm's need to be careful not to show favoritism to any house.

This girl should be really careful. If other sororities see that she's spending all her time with KD's especially at parties before rush that could hurt her experience. If I were you I'd try to tell her to delete the picture before any serious damage is done. It doesn't come off very good to look like you're already picking favorites, and she could easily be black listed to lots of sororities now.
