cut rooms
by: Scared pnm#2by: Well
Some sororities will group girls by putting all their favorite girls into one room and putting the girls they plan to cut into another, the "cut room." This way actives know which girls to rush harder or which girls they don't need to pay as much attention to.
In my sorority we only do this during the first round.

Cut rooms do not exist. There is not an entire room dedicated to girls who will be cut. Most houses do not bring girls into separate rooms period. Do not pay attention to where you get seated during rush. Panhellenic changed how girls will be called in to the house each round.. It is now alphabetical. Therefore you will be seated mostly according to your last name.

My sorority separates girls as well. However pnm would have no idea of how this works!
No, we don't have "cut rooms" but there are entire areas that girls will be brought to (usually by a rusher who doesn't have a favorite in that round) where we are courteous, but know we won't be inviting them back.
#5by: yes
Not cut rooms, but my sorority is still going to sit girls according to how much we want them, we'll just call them in according to how panhellenic wants them to now. There's no way to stop this. With over 1800 girls coming through rush we need to have some type of system to organize.

Last year my roommate was complaining about a certain house making her stand during skit round when all the other pnm's were seated.
That my friends is the equivalent of a cut room.
And yes, she was cut after skit.
Top girls will be placed towards the center or front of the room.

Most sororities also have specific girls that get assigned to pick up girls that they really want also. So like if the girl who picks you up has lots of responsibilities in the chapter, you know that they all value her opinion and they're really looking into you. On the other hand, if the girl who picks you up isn't involved or frankly isn't that cool (every sorority has bland members, it happens), you can kind tell that you aren't on their top list, but that doesn't mean that you'll cut you. This isn't 100%, but combined with where you sit for the rounds and who comes up to talk to you too, you can kind of guess.

Do you even go to Ole Miss? No sorority has a cut room. During rush, everyone is in the same room.
