Best houses for oos

DDD, KD, and Chi O have a lot of MS girls but every house has out of state girls!

all the houses have girls from every state but typically sorority row + chi o is more mississippi. rebel dr has alot of out of state. they all are great houes!!

I'd say AXO would be a great option for OOS girls since there obviously would be no "who do you know" bs but now that they won't be coming for another year, so I guess not.

While all of the houses have girls that are out of state, some definitely do have more and aren’t as controlled by alumna. Also, we need to start referring to this as “out of south” girls and “southern” girls. This is because Ole Miss is 45% out of state. Girls from nearby states such as Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas and Tennessee will most likely have the advantages that people think only Mississippi girls get. And it’s not because sororities don’t want northern or western girls, it’s because southern girls are more likely to know people from high school, be legacies, have family members who were in ole miss sororities and know more in general about the rush process at a large southern school. I am from NY, a non legacy and still found myself pledging a “top” or “Mississippi” only house so it isn’t possible for you to not get into certain houses because you are OOS. But to answer your question, the houses that would be considered “top” for “non southern” girls are phi mu, kappa and dg. ADPi, AOPi, Pi Phi, and APhi would probably have more non southern girls compared to the rest. However you will find girls from everywhere in each house.

Stay away from chi o and tri delt then.. all legacies, rich Mississippi, or people who all already knew each other in high school loll

The most desired houses for girls in your position are alpha phi and pi phi.
Pi phi is more desirable because it is more competitive (they make heavier cuts), get a lot of girls that preffed phi mu or other higher up houses but didn’t get a bid, and they’re all extremely close.

Alpha phi is also super desirable because they’re “all the rage” right now. This past year they pulled an extremely attractive pledge class out of nowhere. They have a lot of controversy but did really really well. And have a gorgeous house.

The best house for you might be ANY house. Don't get stuck on certain houses, even if you're an OOS girl without connections. There are girls like you in even the most Miss. houses - and they love it. It's all about fit, not the geographic makeup.

Look for the house that fits you, not the house with the "most OOS" girls, etc. You might be surprised where you land if you're open. (And yes, one of the "most OOS" girl houses might be best, but be open!).
