kkg transfer

by: .

So I'm a freshman Kappa at another SEC school and I think I'm transferring to Ole Miss next semester to be closer to home(I'm from MS) and I was just wondering if it's possible for me to join the ole miss chapter of kappa and how that would work?

I have been told they have to take you, regardless of the college you joined. What I don't know is if they treat you differently. Because honestly, who wouldn't? That seems like human nature to initially reject being forced to accept someone. My question is: Do sorrority transfers happen alot? And How do members really feel about transfers? Do the others eventually accept you as a real member??

Why do you think this site can answer that? Why don't you do the intelligent thing and reach out to Kappa and ask them how it works? Duh

Talk to your chapter and they will help you arrange the sorority stuff. Most chapters will vote on accepting the transfer student, but that's all I know. You will need to be in good standing with your original chapter.

Ask your chapter president what the rules are. Every sorority is different. In general, the new chapter must vote to approve your transfer. So many people join at a smaller, less competitive chapter and then try to transfer to other chapters that are very, very tough to get into. Not many sororities give you a guarantee anymore because of people trying to game the system. Your grades still have to be really good for them to accept you and you have to "fit in".
