Does being an out of state student have any affect on rushing?

No. I am in a top tier sorority and am out-of-state. Nor did I know anyone in the house before Rush. Also, many of my sisters are from out-of-state as well. Friends I rushed with went to other houses were also out-of-state and also are in top houses.

Recruitment is hard for many pnms in and out of state. Some instate Obama may have more connections and that is helpful but for the most part all Obama are the same. IU recruitment is not pretty and many pnms slip through the cracks. That being said, the "lower tier" sororities are very good organizations are while GR may call them low tier, they are easily equal to most college's middle tier. Our recruitment is so scary that the low tier pnm doesn't even sign up bc they know it won't end well.
