Even the lower tier on campus houses at IU will only bid 5%-10% of guys who sign up to rush. Higher tier houses are even more competitive. Off campus houses are far less competitive they bid like over half the guys that rush (because no that many people rush off campus houses).

to put some perspective on how up in the air recruitment can be, after 21 party i got cut from achio, chi o, gphi, kappa, and alpha phi. those are all upper middle to top chapters. however, even with more lower tiered chapters on my list than upper tiered ones, i still ended up in a "top chapter." it isn't about how hard it is to get into "specific tiered chapter", it all matters on your luck of recruitment. get your name out there because sororities have rush crush lists that entitle you above a lot of girls who are pushed back in the shadows. that's my only word of advice coming from a girl who has seen the other side in a very desired chapter during recruitment.
