sophomore rush

rushing as a sophmore girl next year, which houses cut you just because youre a sophomore? and why is it so hard to get a bid as a sophomore? i didnt have the gpa to rush this year, it's not like i tried to rush and got cut

Get your GPA up at least over 3 or most of the houses will cut you as a sophomore. Many houses look for at least a 3.2-3.3 from sophs, some want a 3.5 unless you have many connections in a house. They will already have a sophomore class, they need freshman, so it's harder, but not impossible. Most houses take a few sophs each year, some more, but it's important that you spend the next year trying to get to know sorority women and improving your GPA! Good luck!

I rushed as a sophomore and got into a great chapter! Rushing sophomore year isn't hard at all and it can make you stand out in a good way if you know how to go through rush smart. Tridelt is one house that is notorious for cutting sophomores and chio just doesn't take that many girls in general.

Next year all chapters have to extend bids to a minimum of 50 women.

The GPA was raised to 2.8, but it doesn't make difference since the majority of chapters drop anyone bellow a 3.0

AEPhi took 42.
Chi O took 35.
DG took 49.
Tri Delts took 38 and was the only chapter that didn't make quota.
SDT took 37.

Next year chapters will have to take 50 girls, they can take more girls. I would guess that those chapters above will take the required 50 and no more. The numbers are correct, they came from a Panhel meeting. I have the chart in front of me.

The actives had a bad time connecting with PNMs. PNMs just didn't like them for various reasons.

I don't get how a house can not make quota by that many and still be considered a top chapter. If they were a top chapter, more girls would have put them first. Plain and simple. It's time to forget history and look at how chapters are NOW, not 25 years ago when my parents were IU students.
