Why are top houses boring?
by: ConfusedI just finished the first day of rush at iu, and I am honestly so confused why the rankings are the way that they are? Almost all the conversations I’ve had with top houses have been boring. The girls literally talk about how they like to tan, shop, or boys which I thought we weren’t supposed to talk about in the first place… When I had conversations with houses that are more low and middle tier I actually enjoyed myself, so I am confused how the tiers ended up this way. It really seems like they are just recruiting based off looks. Someone tell me if I’m wrong or missing something

As someone in a mid house it is so much easier to make friends. I was bummed at first when I didn’t get a top house but I am so thankful I didn’t. They have so much drama and each house is full of fake people. If you’re looking for an actual sisterhood I would suggest a mid house.

The rankings are mostly made by frat boys that have no clue what they are talking about, so the “rankings” do end up being more based on looks. It’s typically not sorority women getting on here ranking each other, most of us have friends in all different chapters and don’t compare ourselves like that. Your decision joining a sorority should be more about what vibe you fit with, not rankings.

Obviously some sororities are just know for being “better” but seriously go wherever is best for you. Limiting yourself to the chapters that are perceived as “better” could prevent you from finding your best fit.
