Can a guy with no friends join a fraternity?

Might sound weird but I feel like in order to make a good impression you already have to have friends , I was never popular in hs so I didn’t always have many friends to start with , it doesn’t mean I’m weird or anything but I just never got along with them , now in college and one thing keeping me to rush is the same rejections that I face back in hs about whenever I tried to make friends . It seems like everyone else in college is living the dream when I see them with a friend or in a fraternity and it feels like I’ll seriously die without serious friendship.

You do not need to know anyone to rush a fraternity. With that said do not rush a top house as you generally need connections and it sounds like you are a bit of a nervous guy. You need to chill out and show some personality and not get in the creepy zone or no one will take you. Try some of the lower tier houses like DU, Phi Tau, Lambda Chi etc. Let me repeat, chill before you go through rush.

Hey man, I was in a similar situation before rush. I get along with pretty much everyone but always had a hard time making friends that stuck. It sounds like fraternity life might be what you’re looking for.
Since joining, I’ve opened up to people in ways I never thought I could. It is a real healthy thing to live in a community of people who have your wellbeing as a priority in their life.
When you rush, remember that you are evaluating the frat as much as they are evaluating you. Don’t even think about their evaluating: that’s for them to worry about and your mind should be on honest conversations with brothers about what you are looking for in friendship and in a house.
