Why do PHA and IFC even exist
by: F that
I understand NPC and NIC existing as a representative of all sororities and fraternities, but to be honest it seems that PHA and IFC completely abuse their power/purpose by telling individual, completely different chapters, how to run their organizations.
Each sorority and fraternity was founded on different values and have different ways of conducting business. PHA and IFC should not have a say on what each chapter does, such as making us participate in all kinds of stupid events and workshops when our own chapters already have their own programs for the same things.
I also think sorority rush should be completely independent of each other just like fraternity rush. Each chapter does things differently and making us do things the same way completely takes away from the uniqueness of each chapter and from our founding principles. I want independence.

In theory, IFC and PHA are supposed to ensure the chapter's interests are taken into account when university policy is set. In addition to being governing organizations, this is their primary role....unfortunately, at IU unlike most other campuses, both organizations fail to stand up for their member chapters and simply go along with what ever new absurd regulations IU proposes.

Facts. It seems to me that PHA and IFC punish us more than help us / help support us and our individuality
