Superficial relations

this is something ive been noticing for a while its really depressing but I definitely don't feel close to anyone in my house and don't feel like "they're my people". you can put a group of 50 or 100 random girls or guys in any house and make them live together but it doesn't mean they're your life long friends. my hometown friends really know me and are there for me through it all. my friends here are more like instagram buddies and random snapchat streaks. I couldn't tell u anything deep or personal about any of these people. will definitely be living out next year

so good to finally get this out. it doesn't matter if youre in a top house or upper house or anything, its all the same process and rush doesn't let u actually get to know these people. lets be real they choose girls and guys based on 5 min convos which tells u NOTHING about these people. and once youre in, all u do is party together and thats it. that is not how u form close friendships so we will never have a strong brotherhood or sisterhood here. at iu all the houses just try to compete and bring down each other and for what?? college should not be a popularity contest its so sad. we will all be leaving iu without close genuine friends except maybe a couple people. greek life does not form close relationships at least not at iu. wish I had known this before or I would've chosen a diff school fs

I agree 100%. Being in a frat here is the same repetitive cycle of partying Thursday- Saturday, forgetting it all by Sunday afternoon, and then waiting until Thursday comes so u can do it all again. Loses its magic really fast. I have like 2 guys that I would consider actual friends.

completely agree, its getting so repetitive too the same thing every single weekend but nobody is getting closer. we're more like acquaintances living In a big house theres no bonding or anything. cw to live out next year this is really pointless.
