No it just genuinely won’t and can’t happen because there is no way every girl in every house will agree to that and forfeit going to parties and having fun, but you can boycott frats and do nothing I’m sure hella girls are gonna rally behind you!! 😂

Dont comment if you dont know. Panhel has already agreed to this and presented it to IFC multiple and they shoot it down every time. We already aren’t having pairs any time soon and haven’t in a very long time. This has been in the works for quite sometime so dont be surprised when this is the straw that broke the camels back. Only one sorority cares about pairs more than about the PHA community and they dont want to be outed as that house so this is happening eventually whether you like it or not

Well it needs to start with IFC and panhel.

We are going to start doing this and within the next two schools years I can absolutely guarantee it. the PHA community as a whole is very sick of the way we get treated in person and on this website and we dont get to party rn anyways so we frankly dont care if it means there will be no pairs planned or random for a semester a year or more. Mean 19 year old boys dont get to ruin this for everyone

Definitely true there will have to be rules about attendance. If it’s shown that your org is purposely not showing up to certain events because a certain house will be there you dont deserve to have any pairs with anyone (for example if your attendance at random pairs is nonexistent compared to planned pairs you go back to having no pairs). It’s not going to be easy to enforce the first few years but it will be worth it in the long run if we want Greek life to continue to exist at IU. We are the only big school that does pairs the way we do and it ruins the entire community

I’m not opposed to the idea I just know this would never work. The boys will never change their attitude about pairs. Why would girls want to show up at a party that boys don’t even want to throw for them. The lack of effort for those certain “random” events will be very apparent. And I can never see how an attendance rule could work. How can you force working college kids to show up to a party? Even pairs that were chosen don’t have attendance rules and sometimes people still don’t show up. People are busy sometimes or make other plans? I’d love to see a world in which this would work but everyone has to consider the worst case scenarios that are bound to come from this. Interested to hear anything that could prevent this though.

I know I’d rather have a rough transition period and trial and error policies about random vs. planned pairs than continue to let the fraternities destroy Greek life at this school. Pairs are the only thing frats care about anymore at IU and that needs to change because it is the exact reason we’ve lost 9 frats in 4 years

It’s true! The divide isn’t between srat tiers, it’s between frat tiers and they’re projecting it onto us. They literally make it seem like we hate each other and fight over who’s top just to try and make their frat look better based on who they pair with and how those srats are ranked (by them). If you want change in the Greek community then we need to start w IFC. All men need therapy!
