Grades and Sorority Recruitment
by: PNMHi, so genuine question. I was looking on panhel’s website and the average GPA’s for individual sorority chapters were listed around 3.7-3.8. This semester was rough for me with the pandemic so I’m looking more at a 3.4-3.5. Should I bother signing up for recruitment or are my grades too low?

@OP, that’s a total cap. those panhellenic pages are not even on a secure site lol. look at the official sorority and fraternity academic reporting on IU’s website. the point is, a 3.5 is considered a high gpa for Greek life and she will def be fine in that regard

The average is all the girls in the chapter combined. You need a 2.8 to go through recruitment. If you have a 3.0 or higher you are most likely able to get into many chapters. Some chapters have higher gpa requirements so you may be dropped from those houses but that’s a select few.
Go through and see which chapters you like and which one you want to join

Go on the Indiana Panhellenic website. On each individual chapters page it states their average gpa and most of them are 3.7-3.8.
