are letters of rec for PNMs a common thing or do most get bids without them?

usually ill dm people on linked to give me letters of rec for rush

trust me im rushing for the third time this year as a senior so u know i have experience

It can't hurt to have them. They aren't a requirement but if the membership committee has to break a tie, it could help just like a slightly higher GPA can push one pnm over another.

no rec letters do not mean anything at IU except for bottom tiers or maybe lower mid. I know a girl with 3 rec letters who was a DG legacy and her aunt was on the national exec board and she got cut the second round. it really means nothingg

true, many if not all sororities on campus also got rid of legacy advantages so just focus on doing your best during recruitment cause that’s the only thing that will get you in a house

Clearly you have never been a member of the member selection team. If so, you would know that they are used to separate hundreds of women who are otherwise equal. Doesn't guarantee a bid. But, can certainly get you back for another look.
