life after dropping from recruitment

by: ;)

Here’s to all the PNMs that decided to drop and don’t really know what to do with their lives: a lot of people also dropped, don’t be embarrassed. If you really want to be in greek life, you’ll have more opportunities. Talk to your rho gam and she’ll set you up for informal, check out PHA’s website, reach out to someone you know in a house, or start getting ready for next year’s recruitment. Whatever you decide, it’ll all work out so use this as an opportunity to get to know yourself better, your priorities and interests, what you’re REALLY looking for in a house, etc. and don’t freak out about why you got dropped from X or Y house, it’s usually just about numbers.

I dropped and didn’t know what to do with my life and now I’m in the house I always wanted.

I am in a house but my best friend was cut. I see her life is very similar to mine because she got involved. Greek life is maybe 15% of campus. I was very sad some girls were cut. It is not personal. There are so many ways to meet people and after sophomore year Greek is irrelevant.

if they really wanted to be in Greek life they wouldn’t have dropped in the first place. 99% of the time girls drop because they didn’t like the status or tier of the houses they got back so I wouldn’t say they reallyyy want to be in Greek life for the sisterhood of it

not necessarily. many people drop because they got dropped by a house they really wanted because they just connected and felt good there. formal recruitment is hard and not for everyone.
