rush as freshman vs informal

How are your grades ? How many women do you know in houses from high school and IU?
4.0 through next fall and 50-100 + woman you know who know you in sororities rushing as a sophomore should go well.
Otherwise it’s a crap shoot.
Either way I’d at least sign up for informal , good practice if nothing else comes of it.

i do not know much about other chapters, but i have heard it is a lot harder to go through formal as a sophomore. I only know of a few chapters doing informal such as ASA and DPHIE

it might be a little more difficult to do informal because houses don’t have any info on you (like how you were ranked during formal or if the girls liked you etc). if you know anyone in a house you’re interested in, ask them about it. I saw many sophomores going through formal this year but it’s mostly due to the high number of girls dropping last year. houses do prefer freshman because they would be in the chapter for longer, but if you really stand out then you would for sure have a shot.
