Girls haven’t Even had a chance to sign their bids yet. There’s no way of knowing right now.
Quota is apparently around 59 or 60 from what I’ve heard and everyone was required to take quota additions. Unless there are a lot of girls who get their bids and turn them down, there won’t be a lot of COB opportunities. Just being realistic.
But seriously no one’s going to be able to tell you for sure for at least 24 hours so give it some time, email the Greek life office and let them know you’re interested in any possible open COB events that take place. If they are small COB events and end up only taking in girls they have pre-selected for cob you won’t get info from panhel

That’s just it though, we CAN doesn’t mean we WANT to or will. The pledge class this year is the biggest it’s ever been due to a lot of factors, we have no reason to put resources (time and money) into informally recruiting if we already have huge (by comparison to previous years) PCs.

Not true. Almost every college campus has some type of informal recruitment. Members drop for some reason, transfer, etc. Chapters fall below campus total all the time at other campuses.

No there’s no need for an informal rush because we ARE so inclusive and more girls than previous years got bids so try again.

Heard this was one of the worst years iu has ever seen for rush. Less girls rushed and even more dropped. And now without chi o there’s only 21 active sororities taking bids causing more drops. From what I’ve overheard from some rho gams, informal might have a few more options than usual

Not true at all. Stop being drama queens. 1211 women signed bids which is almost the exact same as the past few years.

IU is becoming a more normal rush like the rest of colleges. What that means for PNMs is no matter how many sororities there are or how many PNMs there are, anyone left at the end of recruitment who maximized their options should get a bid. If people removed themselves from the process that’s on them that has nothing to do with how rush went overall (although of course the whole XO sitch made it a lot more dramatic).
Does no one remember what IU rush used to be? Ask your moms. It’s absurd. PCs were 20-40 tops, no rules on how many PNMs you had to cut each round which leads to PNMs being strung along only to be dropped after pref, and no one getting bids. The new method of rush is improving our Panhellenic rush experience for PNMs overall. We can find them a home somewhere but we can’t change their immature heads over what chapter they SHOULDVE gotten invited back to.
Every year people cry out THIS YEAR WAS THE WORST RUH EVER EVERYTHING WAS AWFUL AND EVERYTHING IS BROKEN so sorry for not seeing eye to eye with you and taking what you’re saying right now with a grain of salt.

What happened was the other chapters didn’t see you as a member of their sorority but the unhoused chapter did. The end.

Just because a chapter has done informal in the past, does not mean it will do informal now. Good luck. Hang in there. :)

That’s tough. No advice there other than look out for informal. Do what everyone has been saying and email panhel and the Greek life office for updates.

You realize as an unhoused chapter, they would be the cheapest on campus? I assume that even paying dues PLUS rent would be cheaper than some houses on this campus

I think what she is saying is that mommy and daddy want her to live somewhere with a housemother and tons of rules, not off campus where she can do what she wants.

Some houses will COB right away and make those girls a part of the new pledge class. The reason for COB isn’t because they didn’t make quota, it’s because they have a lot of girls either studying abroad fall semester or girls living out. Not all house require 2 year live in. Say a house took quota of 56 and they have open rooms for fall for 60. They will COB 4 additional girls. These girls usually are people they already know. Panhellenic is not involved with COB. There isn’t a registering process like formal recruitment.

Some chapters offered snap bids to quota which means that they were a few women short and picked them up Monday. There is a chapter who offered snaps later this evening, the picked up a couple.
There are three chapter who may do informal: DPhiE, TPA and ASA. Most every other chapter made quota or one or two below. Those one or two below already have people in mind for those spots.
