Sophomores can get a snap bid if they have the qualifying GPA and an inside connection to the chapter. DO NOT pin your hopes on a snap bid, so few of them are given out during recruitment like less than 20 per year. Most of those are given out on the downlow by chapters who missed quota by fewer than three or the bottom chapters who miss it by a lot.

Your GPA will need to be higher than a freshman's GPA for any bid at all. A sophomore with a 2.8 GPA better be drop dead gorgeous or be uberwealthy.

If you have under a 3.0 as a sophomore you’ll get dropped everywhere but sdt dphie tpa asa sk after first round unless you know people. Even if you do have connections you probably will still end up getting dropped as a sophomore w under a 3.0 after philanthropy. Go into rush w this in mind and focus on the houses that want you bc first round will be virtually irrelevant for low gpa sophomores, you just get cut no matter how much they loved/hated you
