legacies
by: bidare there any houses that have to offer automatic bids to legacies ? I'm a legacy at two houses and one of them is one I would love to be in.

Kappa, theta, phi mu are the houses I hear about most taking legacies. I wouldn’t get my hopes up though it can be a disadvantage on this campus to have a lot of legacies. You’ll get dropped by most after 9 party so they don’t have to give you a guaranteed bid

legacies have to be invited back to the second round and if they make it to pref round, they have to be offered a bid. so if the house doesn't want to bid one of their legacies, they get dropped between 2nd round and pref.

That’s a rule for some houses, not all. Like I said, my sister is in Phi Mu. They CANT drop legacies, their nationals doesn’t literally doesn’t let them. That’s why I commented what I did, lol. Some houses ARE like this but every house is different, so you shouldn’t act like you know the rules for every house because those are the rules for yours.

Phi Mu can cut legacies, if the couldn't then the entire house would be nothing but legacies. They just can't cut them if the legacy makes it to pref round. Several houses have that rule that if a legacy makes it to pref then they have to offer them a spot, that is why so many legacies get cut right before pref round at a lot of houses.

i know a ton of girls who were legacies to some really good houses and they didn't get invited back after first round. every house on iu's campus has something unique and special about them, and just because you're a legacy doesn't mean it's right for you. keep an open mind.
