by: Thanks SLLThanks to administration IU is not that fun of a school anymore. 5 houses have been kicked off since I started school in 2015 and I feel like the campus has lost its energy. Anyone else feel the same way?

The problem isn't the administration, it's that our leaders in IFC and IUSA don't do anything and don't push back on the administration....literally every single time, they fold like a cheap suit...If IU passes some stupid rule like the Housed Greek Agreement a couple years ago, IFC doesn't say or do anything....if the admin wants to discourage tailgating or punish a chapter for BS reasons, IFC doesn't do anything or disagree
Until we have leaders that will actually stand up for something, heck stand up for anything, this will continue

This just isn’t as true as it seems. It would take an idiot to not realize that the suspension — even though IFC voted for it — would have come with or without IFC approval. It’s short-sighted to think that IFC agrees with everything they’ve let happen. If the university wants something done, they go to IFC first since it’s better optics for all involved. If IFC doesn’t agree, they do it anyway.

Yeah but that’s my point. Yes, the suspension would have come from the university but why give in to Bullying and threats, why loan this BS credibility. How great would it have been if IFC said “the university has decided to desriminiate against our members even though they did nothing wrong. We are working with our alumni and national offices to pursue legal remedies.” You might disagree with me but go back through the IDS archives....if you can find even one single instance where IFC has stood up to IU, I will gladly admit that I am wrong.

Any time that ifc has stood up to the university it hasn’t come out to IDS. There have been things that the university wanted and IFC said no. Example: IU wanted two parties are week. Off got three. The reason it doesn’t get reported is because IU would never let any idea of dissent get out to the public like that.

It’s definitely dead for lower tier sororities because those girls can’t frat hope to higher tier & more fun parties at midnight anymore. A lot don’t know guys in those houses because they don’t pair, so they miss out on a ton of fun parties and get stuck at a lot of lame ones with no options tbh.
