iu recruitment needs change

It gives majority of girls no option of choice.what One girl said in an earlier post says it all, "pnms you are not in charge, we are". The only choice you truly have as a Pnm is to drop, otherwise every choice along the way is made for you, well unless daddy is willing to donate enough money to put his name on a building or is a coach, then possibly you have a "choice". In today's society of the equality and empowerment of women being so important for women's rights movement, IU recruitment is a complete failure in this area the way it is done. It is a 100% oppressive process. No matter if you will be getting a bid from a top house or a lower house, the process left you with no choices, because everyone knows the ranking doesn't work everyone still gets houses back they list last. Change the process IU. It works for the guys. I am heartbroken for girls who fall through the cracks of this system.

As a recent alum (as of Dec), recruitment is a lot like interviewing for a job. I did a bunch of group interviews before I graduated and I noticed that although all of us had a similar academic background, companies were really going for culture fit. Yeah, rejection sucks and I faced it a lot during my interviews but it has a lot of parallels to the real world. Sometimes you don't get in because another candidate fit better or outshines you but there are other options. I did not get an offer from my #1 company but so far it's been a couple of weeks at my #2 company and I think I will be very happy here.
Just like the real world, things don't always go as planned but they will work out in the end

Also in the real world not every business has success and finds they need to cut their losses and close. And the remaining companies, especially if in same industry then picks up some of the failed company's business and resources.

Alum speaks truth. Not everyone makes the team, gets the job, etc. But you still buy the interview outfit or the athletic clothes and try like crazy. Rejection really does suck, and it is hurtful, but we need to stop calling recruitement "unfair". That's life and sometimes life is great and sometimes it is stinky.

IU has improved the recruitment system for the past few years and now membership numbers have become more even between homes. If any one home has a lot fewer women it may be due to large graduation classes or any variety of means. Set total will come in good time.
