connections
by: Curious!Seems like a lot of people have connections when it comes to getting into frats, and its a great way to ensure a bid, if one does not have this sort of connection are they automatically at a major disadvantage? Advice? (also is there any way to attend a frat event to establish these connections prior to rush?)

Honestly yes, you're at a disadvantage. Many fraternities have pre rush events as early as summer to get guys in that they know from high school. Does that mean you're not going to get a bid? Maybe not. But the majority of houses (top tier ones especially) give bids out to guys with connections > normal rushes. To make connections you can't really attend frat events or anything like that, but you can reach out to anyone you know, like literally anyone you know in a house.

What would you ask a brother already in the frat?
