delts coming back?

by: Rumors

I heard this from a friend who is in an organization that is BIDDING on the Delts house. Apparently, the alumni board of DTD has been telling organizations that they may be coming back after one year. They might try to appeal, and if they win wouldn't have to wait 5 years before coming back to campus.

NOPE. Delts got a 5 year suspension from IU. The earliest they can return is Spring 2022. If Delt Alumns are telling that to those bidding on their house, then it is probably their Alumns organizing a rogue/underground chapter without their National's permission. If that is true, IU can prolong their suspension until that rogue /underground delts cease operation, which would work out best for the those that will get the Delts house. I can't imagine this would even happen.

The suspension is from IU, not their national. Five year minimum, they CAN return spring 2022 if all parties agree.

Suspension means lose of recognition in both IFC and University. Their National has NO say when it comes to IU suspension. They just have to adhere to the suspension process until it is completed. If their National chooses to organized underground, which is in direct violation of the suspension and University polices, then suspension can continue until all operation is ceased. It has been done before.

Delts is gone for a guaranteed 3 years and can appeal in years 4 and 5.

Actually you're all wrong. Delts CAN appeal at their Arch chapter in June this year. Delts arch chapter meets bi-annually and at the last meeting in December they decided to revoke Delts charter.

By June, even in the small chance that they win that appeal, would be too late for next year and they would have to fill the house.

Delts housing corporation is also not involved with the appeal however and feel they are safest signing a 5 year lease instead. Confirming that even if they win the appeal it would be AT LEAST 5 years until they could come back.

Delts decision had nothing to do with university. Entirely internal matter.

Source: I know the person filing the appeal as well as people on the Delt housing corp

Even if Delts nationals says they can come back, the university still needs to recognize them as an organization in order for them to get their house back and they may not since that would look VERY bad on them to take back an organization that was just kicked off for some serious hazing.

Early on they thought they had a chance to appeall. Recently though, nationals told them they didn't have a shot. A lot of their PC is rushing elsewhere or looking to transfer.

They can appeal their nationals in June. It will e too late for them to live in next year. But it is possible for them to just have a year suspension. Not very likely though

this post is potentially true, kappa sig got kicked off in fall 2013 and was suppose to gone for 3 year, but won their appeal against the dean/ifc in the spring 2014 and moved back into their house in the fall of 2014. All regular activities were able to continue
