is msu a "slacker u" ... "high school 2.0"?
by: SuzyThat's what my family and their friends think. Will I be stereotyped if I go there? Is it hard to make new friends because a lot of Oakland County, & Lansing and Grand Rapids area high schools send like a 100 students each each year?

Msu is not a slacker school. Yes a lot of Michigan kids here but also a fair amount from the Chicago area, east cost, and west coast. You can chose to continue to hang out with just your high school friends if you want but very easy to meet a wide variety of people especially if you go Greek.

I don't think MSU offers a real college experience because everyone knows everyone else. You can't reinvent yourself or get out of your comfort zone here if like 1,000 kids from back home are here.
And first and second year courses are all in massive lecture halls. It's basically a Walmart education. But I guess that's why it's only $24k a year and the privates are $50-70k.

the top 10% is smart but overwhelming majority here are dumb & lazy af. the issue is few here know any smart people, like they don't even grasp how assertive, aggressive and sharp a legitimately smart peer is. that's why everyone here hates UofM, the kids there intimidate them during just brief encounters. even the "dumb" kids at UofM run circles around the "smart" kids here.

it is a slacker school, it's easy af and everyone is pretty provincial. anyone disagreeing is just too stupid and naive to know any better. my high school AP courseload was harder than three years of state.
