SG Candidates: If you believe it post it.
by: truth type shi
I’ll be honest.
I know my views aren’t always the popular ones on this campus. That’s fine. I don’t hide them. So seeing someone switch up the second there’s pressure is kinda wild.
If you believe something, stand on it. Don’t start deleting posts and going private when people notice. That just looks soft.
If you’re running for SG, at least be solid about who you are. Even if people disagree, at least it’s real.

It’s hard to take DEI messaging and public statements about inclusion seriously when the people closest to you are openly supporting leadership that has worked against women’s rights. Whether intentional or not, that association carries weight. Leadership isn’t just about what you post, it’s about the values you align with and the environments you’re comfortable being part of.
If you’re stepping into positions of power, people will naturally look at alignment and consistency. And when accounts suddenly go private instead of addressing concerns directly, it doesn’t exactly reinforce transparency.
