wish the university would start looking at greek life as a valuable asset to the school, we raise money, we draw in kids from all over the country, we do community service, we get better grades than non greeks... there is a serious agenda to tear down greek life here at UA when our greek life is a huge selling point for a lot of students that are choosing to come here.. it seems like there is a rotation of frats being in trouble and its even more apparent with the top frats.

pike is like the "nice guy" fraternity, i'll go there for alcohol and leave before a guy wearing chubbies makes out with the side of my face as im trying to get away
i go to pike if aepi is doing something because of the proximity and i only go to aepi if sae/fiji isnt doing something fun

I was a FiJi @ the University of Arizona back in the mid 1970's and all I can really say is that it's pretty shocking to read about all this - sure we did some stuff. However, we also helped the local community through various activities, but no-one ever got hurt and we never put the house at risk. Personally I think the University and the International Fraternity are making the right decision by withdrawing the charter as a lesson and reminder that no one is above the law. There are standards to be upheld. Closing the house benefits the University and the fraternity as well in that it sends a message that there is time and a place for fun. All of those involved including the president of the house should be removed from the school immediately. Although greek life is another facet of college, there is a serious side to it and these fellows crossed the line. Sad to say it has tarnished Phi Gamma Delta it's reputation and this degradation ultimately cost Upsilon Alpha it's charter. As well it should of.

Despite all those things, having a kid die on campus does not look for greek life and the U of A. The actions they are taking are necessary.
