This kind of explains the history of the frats if anyone was wondering. Some are currently kicked off.
"Originals": Fiji, SAE, Sig Chi, KS, Pike.
-These frats are the ones that have been at U of A since Greek Life began here and have held a strong presence ever since. Many were originally local frats turned national. All were founded before WW2 and most are located on Greek Row and own their houses. For the most part they have been mid-top houses their entire existence. Strong Alum support and about 2000 members initiated give or take a few hundred. All were kicked off at least once, but quickly recovered. They pretty much all have powerful alums whose names you will find scattered across campus. Unless something drastic happens, like DChi getting banned forever, you will expect to see most of these guys on campus.

"New": DTD, AEPi, BETA, PiKapp, KA, Phi Psi, Sig Ep.
-Founded in between WW2 and the early 1960s, most of these chapters were a part of U of As growth and expansion of Greek Life. They all own their houses, which are located fairly randomly, although I have heard that most had houses up around UMC in the 60s and 70s. (Phi Psis house was were the hub is now, they have money for a new one somewhere) These frats have for the most part been a flavor of the year type deal, sometimes they're top, other times they're bottom. You can typically expect them to be at least mid tier socially though. They all have good alum bases, some even fairly famous, but due to only being on campus for 50-60 years they do not have quite the depth and history of the "Original" houses. Most were kicked at one point or another, leaving a large gap in their alum base, for example Phi Psi was gone from 62-77, and then 12-17. They all have over 1000 initiated members, give or take a few hundred, (I think AEPi has like 1500 though). Over the next 10-15 years these houses will fill out their alum bases and begin to build much nicer houses, like Sig Ep, and expect maybe 1-2 of them to fold forever (Phi Psi?) and the rest will be much closer to an “Original” house, both socially and presence wise.

“Ex- Original”: Phi Delt, DX, Sig Nu, ATO
-Founded alongside all the “Original” houses, they are now pretty much irrelevant. Phi Delt was very much a strong house in the 1940s-1960s, then come the 70s something happened and they fell off. Although still active, most of their powerful and rich alum have all died, and they haven’t been able to attract many new members. DX was right up there with the other “Original” houses until like 2012-2013 when the school and nationals kicked them. They have since been banned and ZBT bought their house. Sig Nu was arguably one of these best houses at U of A for a long time, John Button Salmon was a member, as were many athletes and business men in the 1920s-1950s. They like Phi Delt, declined seriously in the 60s-70s and by the 80s fizzled out. All their re-colonization attempts have failed. ATO was pretty good for a while, but they got kicked in the late 90s, sold their house to DTD and never came back.
