Are there sororities for girls who don't fit the typical "sorority" stereotype? Like.. I'm not stuck up and I can't stand being around girls who are obsessed with clothes and designers and "being classy". But regardless, I like the idea of a sorority and I'm just wondering if there's actually a group of down to earth, nice, fun girls?

I would advise you to go through recruitment and find a sorority that works for you.

There are some girls like that in ALL of the sororities. A LOT of girls are in the Greek system and you are going to like some and not like some in every sororities. Rush....don't let stereotypes keep you out of a sorority. Seriously, the people that are so anti Greek are usually the ones who can't get in , or at least fear that they can't, or they can't afford it. I mean think about it, if you can't find a group of girls you like out of some 2400+ YOU are the problem.

I know not to believe everything I read on here...but those of us who know about it do look! I would like to hear some honest opinions about rankings. I know all about top six and tiers and all that. I honestly have little to no chance for PKT but have lots of recs for the other top six, so who knows, I know recruitment is tough. I am open-minded and really not particularly hoping and praying for any one sorority though. I just hope to get in one with fun, cute girls who mix with some decent frats. I know some people will Never step down from "Top Six and then all" the rest opinions. ANd that is fine, I am sure they are awesome. I just would like to hear from some people who can honestly rank based on what they see in the greek system today. All opinions welcome as long as they arent mean.:)

Don't worry about Pi Phi, Kappa and Theta. You will find out that some girls in those sororities are always trying to put down girls in Zeta, Chio and Tridelt because they feel threatened by them. This has been going on for years. Your prettier, more wholesome girls are in the tier right below PKT. Girls in all of those six sororities hang out together during college and after.

I know neighborhoods, high schools, and summer camps are really important...or so I hear. I have a good gpa, was very active in high school (cheer, golf, clubs)and in my community(mission work, volunteering) am a legacy to a not top six but still apparently decent sorority. I have recs for most houses. I don't have a fancy address or high school and I went to TBARM summer camp for 5 years. Not exactly PKT material either(Like the PNM below said too). I am curious where girls like me usually end up. Any chance at PKT or top six? I am just interested because I plan on keeping an open mind...but it is also good to be realistic coming in.
