They are not automatically going Zeta or Tri Delta. Look at the blond cheer girl who went APhi. She most definitely had ZETA on her list at the end and could very well had Tri Delta toward the end, too.

There are big six material girls that want a less pretentious experience that go APhi. There are also grills rushing PKT that end up at APhi because Tri D cut them, figuring they wouldn’t get them. Tri Delta then has to take 2nd tier girls.

That’s how the balance shifts, as it has this year. It also explains Tri Delta’s unimpressive PC18.

Unless you saw her schedule with your own eyes you can’t just assume she chose alpha phi over those other houses. Big six, whether you like it or not, has been around for decades and HEAVILY influences most girls. Yes tri delt has been weak lately but it’s still a connection house that girls would love to get a bid from. As far as “cheer girls”, there’s like a gazillion of them in zeta so what?

I’m sure it happens but not for 95% of PNMs. You’re talking about a few girls, and that’s just simply not enough to say you’re competing with big 6. You’re simply trying to push an agenda for alpha phi. I’ll agree they’ve done well but this is Texas, all the sororities are great.

yeah, all the houses are great but there is no denying that alpha phi is holding their own these days. they are described as hot but homey if you can imagine that. one active gets a hook into a sought after pnm and they win with some of them. agreed on the oos girls from california, they like that alpha phi reputation. big 6 matters nothing to them.

all this being said, i would not put down ddd like ppl are doing right now. they are a desirable house, even as they take more suburban girls nowadays. their current pc was not their strongest but they won't go down w/out a fight.

TBH a hot PNM transplant from CA would rather die than have to go home to her friends at Thanksgiving and tell them she pledged DDD over Alpha Phi. Sorry but DDD means less than nothing to a California girl and we're getting a lot of cute ones here at UT lately. Big Six is still a big deal to the old guard at Texas (and prob always will be) but our student population doesn't all come from Camp Longhorn and Camp Mystic anymore.

Don’t know where the Tri D advisors are but from the looks of PC 18, the chapter has dropped. Honestly, they’ve got DG level girls in there now. Way too many.

Actually, most girls try to convey the hot and classy vibe. That's what guys like, too.

The whole point was that girls don't automatically go big 6 when given the opportunity.

Pref night is first night any girls rushing get to make the choices. Really. I had one of the best rushes of anyone I know and it was still awful.
