KD got a much better PC than ADPi. KD's was pretty solid from what I've heard, and ADPi's was very random.

Also, there's no such thing as a core 4. No matter how many times you use it on this site it's not going to happen. No one will ever use it in real life, because aside from being a sad attempt to secure the next four spotsk, it was also invented on Greekrank..

ADPi got a a larger number of potential big 6 girls than KD did. ADPi has been getting a better pledge class year by year when KD has been slightly going down.

It's not going to happen, and it hasn't. It was either a desperate attempt to basically make some fundamental separation between those four houses and KD, AXiD, and AEPhi, which honestly isn't that big, or an attempt to latch ADPi and Alpha Phi to houses like AXO and DG. Anyone who references it in real life will just out themselves as someone who uses Greekrank too much, and as we all know, Greekrank is something shameful that people do behind closed doors and pretend they've never heard of in real life.

PKT and Big 6 actually get talked about in real life. Core 4 is a pure invention by this site that most people would be embarrassed to actually reference in real life. It's a lame attempt by someone in one of those houses to artificially secure their spot over other houses forever. It's an attempt to recreate everything they hate about the big 6.

yeah definitely. That is, if your dog was invented and exclusively exists on a gossip website, then it's totally equivalent. If your dog is actually a real dog that people call Joe in real life, then not so much.

All you need to be is in the top 8% of your class and that doesn't guarantee being anything other than smart, not amazing.

yes...if you are in the top 8 percent of your class, can afford a sorority and got a bid, you're pretty amazing and part of an elite group of girls on campus that make up all 14 sororities

top 8 only guarantees you were top grades in your school. If it's a school that isn't very competitive the GPA of the top 8% is a C average--not that great. It depends what high schools you attend.

That is a terrible assumption. My graduating class from my small town high school had 57 people. I was number 2. I had a 105 average and a 4.0 dual credit gpa in 33 hours I had taken at our local 4 year university. Small town doesn't necessarily mean "filled with redneck idiots". I am not AMAZING. However, I am a good student and have never made a B, much less a C.

there is a minimum SAT/ACT score involved as well so it's not just top 7%....yes....getting into UT means you have super grades that mean something and great resumes and then having the $ and getting a bid in one of the chapters.....it means MUCH more than being in a sorority at, say, Baylor, Bama, Tech, etc.

Just know plenty of UT girls who aren't amazing.

there isn't any large degree of difference that makes the alleged "core 4" any appreciable degree better than KD, AXiD, or AEPhi. That said, there also isn't that much separating the big 6 from the others either. That's why I don't think inventing this new core 4 label is real useful or necessary. The big 6 is kind of silly too, but it actually was applied back when the playing field was less even, and there was an obvious top 6 to someone who didn't even know the accepted hierarchy. If someone were to go to each house with no preconceived notions or foreknowledge these days they'd be unlikely to tell you who is considered top, middle or lower tier.

Wasn't even intended to be a thing in the first place -- a writer for Texas Monthly who was a Kappa alum made up the label for an article where she poked fun at all the drama and hype surrounding sorority rush.

Perfectly true, but how it came about doesn't really change the fact that it stuck for better or worse.
