Bid Day, Best Day Truth

Since we obviously have a troll infestation on a mostly dead site, I'm putting this here for the few actual UW students who might see this site.

1. No one knows what girls a house is targeting. Anyone claiming any house lost their target girls is talking out of their ass.

2. Likewise, return rates are probably some of the best kept secrets of recruitment. There are only like 2-3 people who actually know return rates for houses and none of them are counselors. Those few people are not coming on Greek Rank to tell people, nor are they sharing this information with students so THEY can come on here and tell people. Yes, houses have a decent idea of their own number because of their own internal numbers but once again, it's like 1-2 people who can guesstimate and they aren't really telling their house members so they can run to Greek Rank and tell people. Anyone claiming otherwise is talking out of their ass.

3. Ahh Snap Bids...The mode of choice for trolls to try to make houses look bad. Here's the thing to know. Very few snap bids are given out at UW because very few girls get dropped totally or drop out because of houses they have left (This is not the SEC). Once again, no one knows how many houses give snaps, how many they gave, or who got them. Girls in the pledge classes won't even know and anyone saying otherwise is talking out of their ass.

4. COB happens after bid day and once again, no one will know who is doing COB until the house itself or Panhellenic announces it. COB happens for many reasons and not always because of recruitment turn out.

5. Here's the deep dark secret about #3 and #4, and how you can tell a troll from a student. No one cares on campus who takes snaps or COB. It's not a big deal and every house has had to do both at some point. You won't hear people gossiping about it away from this site, because no one cares. Anyone claiming they do is definitely talking out of their ass.

6. The tier posts and rankings are only a thing that happens on this site. There is no exact ranking, most ranks are made by people with agendas but no actual skin in the game, and ranks are not something you will ever hear about in person. I've been here for 3 recruitments now (including my own) and have never once heard anyone talk about house ranks in person. Yes, we are girls and like certain fraternities more than others, but if you polled my sisters, I can promise that you won't get a true consensus to rank frats. The same is true with sororities. If you're cute and chill, no guy is gonna walk away because of your house. Every house is worthy. Anyone saying otherwise, is talking out of their ass.

7. Hopefully you are running home to your dream house on bid day, and will spend the rest of the year with your sisters and new besties making memories and safely enjoying the social part of your college experience. The houses here are all surprisingly similar and you will find your people in each one. No stereotype is 100% accurate for houses. However, if you decide to drop for whatever reason, there is absolutely no shame in it. Not everyone discovers that they love greek life and that's okay too. There are plenty of other orgs on campus to help you feel connected and involved.
