Deferring a bid from a frat

So I was at a rush event and got pulled into a candle lit room and was told to sign a bid, I told them I’ll sign it tomorrow when I’m sober, but this is a safety frat for me so how long can I wait and what should I text the brothers to keep them at bay but still chill?

You can defer a frat without saying telling them you are going to sign it tomorrow, why lie
