my chances of getting in a sorority?

I was brought up in the foster system and my brother and I were adopted when I was 12. I'm headed to USC on scholarship specific for foster kids. The people who adopted me are amazing but they aren't wealthy.
Realistically, should I go through recruitment? I know everyone is going to say "do it do it " and then drop me. Please give me honest feedback.
