i dropped my house

by: read please

I dropped my house today and before anyone says anything about "who cares a house is a house" I do not belong there. Nice girls but my personality does not mix with them. And yes I did only give them a few hours because I'm honestly not one to waste time and I just felt uncomfortable even going into bid day with an open mind. My question is, if I rush again next year will I even have a chance? I know GPA will be very important then, but most of the houses I truly loved were upper middle tier and I somehow got a bottom house. Tips for getting into those houses?

Your only chances as a sophomore will be lower houses. Good luck

Reality it will be harder but not impossible. A. People will know you went to bid day and then dropped. B. The houses that you were interested dropped you once already 3. The process is strange you can have a best friend in a house but have 3 girls not like you for a super lame reason and you will get dropped. 4. All houses take way more freshman, some sophomores and VERY rarely juniors (I mean it's sort of strange to want to pledge then with 17/18 year olds) 5. Good luck but it totally sucks that you took a spot from someone else that just got dropped and you likely would have been happy in the end. You don't belong where you think you should and you should not want to be where you won't be welcomed.

I can assure you I didn't take a spot from anyone because the house wasn't even close to hitting quota. I know why I was dropped by so many houses, hell I was sick for half the whole process and barely made it to open house day 2 so I know I wasn't myself. I'm literally not trying to bash any house bc I know every house is a good fit for someone but I know myself and personally know where id be happy or not. Thanks for the backhanded advice.

i know girls who dropped their house early on, rerushed, and got into "better" houses and girls who dropped their house early on, rerushed, and got back options they liked even less. it's a toss up. sorry you couldn't make that house work for you :/ best of luck next year

1. The upper houses probably picked up on that bad attitude.

2. You don't choose the house - the house chooses you. Most people get the house where they belong.

I went into Rush not knowing what the ranks were. I went into every house with an open mind and it would be nice if u didn’t assume something you know nothing about. I was literally sick for half of rush, and could barely make it to open house for 10 houses. I even knew I wasn’t myself. I know the type of person I am and the type of people I tend to enjoh myself around. The girls in the house I got are lovely. But I genuinely cannot see myself living with and being fine with paying thousands a year on a house I do not feel like I belonged in. So thank you

hey girl
it makes me sad that people are giving u heck instead of helping you. I would say that YES make sure you have a STRONG GPA (harder for houses with lesser GPAs to say no to girls with strong GPAs who can actually help bring the overall up), make sure you continue to make friends in those other houses, keep your image clean (Try to avoid anything that could be considered a "PR risk" aka, keep ur insta classy!) and also try to make friends in more than just one of those "upper middle" houses. Just be yourself, and keep your head up. I'm sorry rush didn't work out how you envisioned, and I hope you do go through the process again. Its tough, but for some girls, re-rushing is the best thing they ever did.
