rushing sororities as a sophomore?

All sororities consider sophomores, but especially for the top houses, it is harder to get a bid as a sophomore than as a freshman. If they love you, they'll still take you. Stick with the process and you will get a bid, just maybe not top tier.

Absolutely! It almost doesn't matter if you're a sophomore unless it's a higher tier house, but even then, if you're a good fit with the other girls/house, you'll get a bid. Don't make it a big deal during rush when you're talking to members, because they most likely don't care. I rushed as a sophomore, and if you get asked why you didn't rush as a freshman, I'd suggest just saying something like "I wanted to get used to the environment/ focus on school." But again, if they don't ask, don't bring it up bc it's pretty normal for sophomores to rush! :)

I think it’s actually a bit easier, they have a quota for older girls

It is not harder to get into a top house as a sophomore, nor do they have quotas for older girls. Having sophomores in houses is extremely common for all houses — it’s rarely considered if at all. Some even like sophomores because they know you’re a bit more acclimated to college and therefore less likely to drop. Just go in and be yourself. It’ll all work out.

The reason they don’t want sophomores is the national organizations want your money for four years not three. It’s all about the $$ with all houses. They can tout sisterhood all they want but it’s money money money.

I’d say your chances of getting in a mid or bottom house are good.
