The ones with weak brotherhood.

P.S. And unless you are President, it does not help to put your fraternity on your resume and might actually hurt.

you mean categorically true. Nothing can replace the shared living experience. As to my second point, many Human Resources people were GDI's and dislike fraternities.

Join for the brotherhood, nothing else.

Agreed on the shared living experience. I was referring to your point about resumes. That is categorically false. I don't even want to begin listing all of the reasons why.

If you were super active, put it. Otherwise don't.

Don't get me wrong, being Greek is a positive from the networking aspect, and once you get to the people you will be working with, it will probably help.

But I stand by my statemetn that lots of HR people were Geeds.

The HR comment may be true but most of the time HR is facilitating and not making the hiring decisions. As someone who has filtered through hundreds of resumes over the past few years, I can assure you that one of the first things I look for is whether the individual was in the greek system.

You're one of the good ones, lol.

Glad to have a reasonable discussion on this board. I would consider it positive too, although I am not currently in a hiring position. Recommendation - Definitely try to use your alums, they not only have access to job opportunities but might know of others that do as well.

I've helped a few guys myself but mostly for internships.
