just wondering
by: yooooI'm an alumni and just curious, not trying to hate or look for hate, but why is AXO a top house now? I would never have related them with DDD Theta or DG, curious whats changed since I've been on campus.

They were top tier in the 80's and 90's, so not sure when you graduated. They are top tier now also, which I count as the Top Five (DG, Theta, DDD, AXO, and GPhi).
Maybe they were in a weak period when you were at UofI, but for most or all of their existence they have been one of the best. Historically, probably right behind DG and Theta.

I was there back then and Kappa was hands down one of the very top so this has to be someone bashing AXO.

Was there too, would put Top Five back then as Theta, DG, AXO, Kappa, and GPhi.
DDD was good but not top tier.
Guess we disagree about GPhi, I only knew a couple but they seemed pretty, well organized, and prestigious. Maybe my impression was wrong.

I don't think anyone would disagree that the top 5 houses, in no particular order, are AXO, DDD, DG, GPhi, Theta. Likewise, there are 2 levels to "top" houses, and they would probably go
DDD, Theta, DG,
Gphi, AXO
however, you could seriously make the argument that Gphi has overtaken DG and MAYBE Theta. Their 20s are certainly better and they are much more popular as a whole. As for AXO, they are undeniably a top house but do not have the regard and establishment of being in the elite cadre of DG, Theta, DDD, even if in any given stretch they are actually better than those 3.

As others have stated above, they have historically been a top five house since at least the 80s. I think what makes them appeal to more people is that they are progressively more diverse than the other top houses. They are not looking for cookie cutter women; rather they focus more on personality and how fun someone is. That should always be what houses look for, but often times those qualities get over looked in favor of how they look. AXO has managed to attract not only great and fun girls who are diverse, but also very attractive (I'm sure their personality adds to this beauty as well) women...I think more and more younger classes see that and want to be a part of that... just a thought.

The absolute top four in the 80's were
Theta DG AXO and Kappa
DDD was next and GPhi was not were it is now
It's almost like KKG and GPHi changed places and AXO and DDD changed places
