want to rush but also want to keep a good gpa?
by: Nerd geedI'm ok when it comes to time management but I also know greek life is really big here. I plan on rushing a social fraternity as well. Would it be possible to keep a 3.5+? For reference I got that in high school with some AP.

Sig Ep is a good place given their lack of pledgeship, but if you have any serious intention of joining greek life you should keep your horizons more open than just to 1-2 houses. While some pledgeships are more difficult than others to be sure, there is no single house whose pledge semester will absolutely preclude you from making good grades. You just have to know when to maybe skip a pregame/exchange or 2, when to strategically get out of tasks etc., and need to know yourself and know how much you need to study for your given classes. Would never recommend you pick your semester's classes to accommodate joining a fraternity, but if you have any latitude there - and it is important enough to you - then you could do that as well.

Not interested in Sig Ep due to their lack of brotherhood so I've heard. I wasn't aware that you can just skip events as a pledge. As a general rule of thumb, how many can you get away with? I don't think actives would be too enthusiastic to hear about some pledges asking how many events they an skip.
