it all depends. its not that hard to get a bid. however it is not always easy to get a bid at the house that you want. you need to be outgoing/social and attractive. and well put together. just have fun and give it your best shot. looks and personality will determine your house and some girls are not happy with their options so they drop. theres always sigma kappa if you are that desperate to join a house. no hazing to mention.

But there are also dogs in the top 3 houses. I too know people that got dropped from every house Freshman year and rushed as Sophmores and are in the top houses. Sorry not saying so much for selectivity. And the fact that you are saying SK is all whales except 10 girls just shows what an ignorant person you are.

ignore these girls attacking each other, they are a poor representation of the greek system. it's not hard to get a bid in general if you are outgoing, real, and reasonably well put-together. if you don't go in with the mindset that you'll only be happy if you get a bid from a queen or a top 5 house, you're going to make it a lot harder for yourself. be realistic and go into it with the intentions of joining the best house FOR YOU, not the best house according to some frat star on your residence hall floor. but if you're genuine and try your hardest to enjoy the process, you will be fine :)

I agree with thetruth. Ignore all the nonsense above and ignore this website! 90% of what's on this website is posted to knock down other houses and self rank. Just join whatever house that YOU like. Ignore all the rankings. As far as hazing goes, there are rumors floating around about certain houses but I personally don't believe them. Panhellenic is super strict about hazing and I'm sure none of the houses would risk getting their charters taken away for something so stupid. Good luck this fall going through recruitment! It can be a tough time but it will all be worth it in the end!

baby 17!!! dont worry just be yourself! everything always works out, its just how rush is. when i went through rush (nostalgia) i didnt get back a couple of the houses i thought i liked at first but now looking back i realized how unhappy i would have been in those houses. dont listen to what people say about how top houses are mean or superficial, OF COURSE some girls are but they are like that in almost every single house, so dont rule out a top house just because you are scared. and dont rule out a bottom house just because people make rude comments about them. all of the houses are unique, dont pay attention to the whole "rank" thing. yes it can be nice to be in a top house, but if its not for you then its not for you! (i wont say which one) but im in a top 5 house and i could not be happier, but i know girls that pledged in houses much lower and they are just as happy and i still get along great with them. most sororities dont haze ( mine was SO against it, anything remotely resembling hazing was not tolerated) but i have herd that a couple do little stupid things, but dont be scared because its no where near as bad as frat hazing. Been many moons since I rushed and pledged, figure for the most part changes have incurred...Greek life grants you the opportunity for instant and sometimes life lasting kinships. Loyalty has it's rewards and pitfalls! Never let others dictate what they don't know about you. If they pass, their loss and you lose nothing- that's your gain. Give it a try and you choose which way to go (your decision) Remember to have FUN!!!
