seeing clearly through the "tiers". . . for all pn
by: Straight Thinker
Ladies when rush begins again this weekend, put out most of what you read here! This is a site where a very small group of people, often with vested interests, create content to suit their purposes.
DO listen to the content here about being open to the house that is right for YOU. When I attended U of I, I was in a "royal" sorority. But especially as an alum who now sees how the real world works, I don't like the "top" tier language. I look at it (like I've read elsewhere on here) more like some houses are more "competitive" than others, true -- but that doesn't make them a group of better people. And if a super competitive sorority is not right for you and another one is, you've only hurt yourself if you choose the former. Someone said it's like MIT is a super "competitive" school, but it's not "right" for most people! So if you go to MIT where you are miserable just for the name, instead of U of I, a great school where you "belong" - and would be happy - what's the point? In fact, a lot of recruiters like the midwest U of I over MIT.
And really, I wish people here would talk about "competitive" houses, not "top" or "bottom." It would make a lot of discussions more relevant and interesting.
You get my point. Have a great time today. Breath deep. And be open to what feels right for YOU.
